Trey DePriest Chooses Alabama Defending National Champions the Alabama Crimson Tide added commitment number 16 today to its already solid 2011 recruiting class. Trey DePriest of Springfield OH chose the Crimson Tide over nearby Ohio State.
DePriest is a 6’2” 230 pound linebacker who was a star at multiple positions for the Springfield High football team. In addition to playing linebacker, Trey also saw time at quarterback, running back, punter, and even kicker. Trey’s high school coach Rick Robertson calls him “a pretty talented kid” who helped the team by playing 80-85 percent of their snaps.
Scout.com had Trey rated as a five star prospect and the third best linebacker in the country. He will join Alabama’s three other linebacker commitments Shannon Brown of Georgia, and fellow in state players Brent Calloway of Russellville and Vinnie Sunseri of Tuscaloosa. DePriest plans to graduate early in time to participate in spring practice with the Crimson Tide.
