Akeem Dent out 4-6 weeks with injury

Well Georgia fans, we have some bad news. Senior linebacker Akeem Dent underwent surgery yesterday on his toe that he injured from an off-field accident last week. He will miss four to six weeks, including all of the preseason practices and also could mean he will be out for the first game against Louisiana-Lafayette.

Dent, who was expected to start this year, will most likely be replaced with sophomore Christian Robinson and it looks like junior Marcus Dowtin will be moved into the starting location at the inside spot. With a new defensive coordinator this year and the absence of Dent, their going to have to take as many reps possible and crack down on each and every practice until he returns.

Over the past few years, Georgia has dealt with loosing a lot of players to either injuries or just dismissals. I was reading over on ESPN and they said back in 2008, was the worst when they had several players out with injuries, recovering from surgeries, etc. It was painful.
